Bundle Multiple Files into a ZIP Online — Any File Type
Sending multiple files as a single ZIP is more convenient than attaching each file individually — it's one download instead of many, the folder structure is preserved, and recipients get everything in one place. FastZip creates that ZIP directly in your browser with no software installation.
Drag any combination of files — PDFs, images, Word documents, spreadsheets, code files, audio, video, or any other type — onto the Create ZIP panel above. FastZip packages them all into a single .zip file ready to download and share.
Mixing file types — FastZip has no restrictions on file types. You can combine a Word document, three JPEG photos, an Excel spreadsheet, and a PDF into the same ZIP. All files are included regardless of their type or extension.
Preserving meaningful names — When you add multiple files, FastZip preserves each filename exactly. The recipient who unzips gets the files with their original names. If you add files from different folders, they all go into the root of the ZIP (folder structure is preserved if you drag entire folders — see the create/zip-from-folder tool for that workflow).
Common multi-file ZIP scenarios:
- Client deliverables — Logo files in multiple formats (SVG, PNG, AI, EPS) zipped together for handoff
- Portfolio submissions — Resume, cover letter, portfolio PDF, and work samples in one ZIP
- Legal/administrative documents — Scan of ID + proof of address + application form for an online submission
- Project assets — Source files, exports, and a README bundled together for a developer handoff
- Photo batch — Multiple photos for a client, colleague, or family member
File size and compression — The 100 MB output size limit (free tier) applies to the total size of the resulting ZIP. Since many common file types (JPEGs, MP4s, PDFs, DOCX) are already compressed internally, they won't shrink much further in the ZIP. The output size will be close to the sum of input file sizes for already-compressed formats.
Format & Feature Reference
| File Type | Compresses Well? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Text / source code | Yes (60–80%) | Highly repetitive |
| Slightly (5–20%) | Often already compressed internally | |
| DOCX / XLSX / PPTX | Slightly (5–15%) | Office formats are ZIP internally |
| JPEG / MP4 / MP3 | No (0–2%) | Already lossy-compressed |
| PNG | Some (5–15%) | Lossless but some deflate headroom |
| Raw photos (NEF, CR2) | Some (10–25%) | Uncompressed or lightly compressed |
| CSV / JSON data | Yes (50–75%) | Very repetitive structure |
Bundling Client Deliverables for Handoff
Design and development handoffs often involve multiple files in different formats. A logo package might include the original vector source (AI or SVG), web-optimized versions (PNG at multiple resolutions), a dark-mode variant, and a brand guidelines PDF.
Bundle all of these into one ZIP in FastZip: the client gets a single file, extracts it, and has everything organized exactly as you packaged it. No cloud storage link required, no "I can't find the files you sent" confusion from attachments scattered across an email chain.
Combining Scanned Documents for Online Submissions
Online applications for visas, bank accounts, credit cards, and government services often require multiple supporting documents — usually PDFs or scanned images. Instead of uploading each file separately (and hoping the upload form handles multiple files correctly), ZIPping them together and uploading the ZIP is often cleaner.
FastZip creates the ZIP on your device — nothing is uploaded during the compression step. You upload only the final ZIP to the government or service portal.
